NEW YORK AREA BIRDS AS ART/PROGRAMS/LATE SUMMER 2000
THE ART OF NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY
FULL DAY HOW-TO SEMINARS
OYSTER BAY, LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK
SUNDAY, AUGUST 27, 2000 (9AM-5:30PM)
BAYSIDE, QUEENS, NEW YORK
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2000 (8:30AM-4:30pm)
On Sunday, August 27, and Sunday, September, 10, internationally renowned
bird photographer Arthur Morris will present a full day How-To Seminar. More
than ten thousand of Mr. Morris' technically perfect, artistically designed
images have appeared in virtually all natural history, photography, and birding
publications, as well as in many general interest publications, prestigious
calendars, advertisements, and on posters and web sites as well, usually above
his most-fitting BIRDS AS ART credit line.
Artie has been a Canon contract photographer since 1995. He was featured in a
worldwide television commercial for the EOS 1N and has appeared in six episodes
of the Canon Photo Safari (which airs October through January on ESPN). He is a
contributing photographer with VIREO (Philadelphia), Windrush Photos (UK), and
The Stock Market, New York.
All nature photographers, not just those who concentrate on birds,
will learn a lot from attending either of these presentations. Artie will
describe the methods and techniques that he has used and developed since 1983 to
produce simply designed yet stunning images on a consistent basis. His comments
on equipment, film, autofocus, light, exposure, composition and picture design,
image sharpness, getting close to free and wild subjects, and his tips on
photographing action and behavior will benefit anyone with a macro or telephoto
lens who wishes to improve the quality of their photographs.
Attendees will learn:
To see and think like an artist.
About modern autofocus cameras and lenses as well as the pros and cons of
both the Canon and Nikon systems.
How to get closer to free, wild and unrestrained creatures than ever before.
The secrets of consistently producing razor sharp images.
About Artie's two favorite films and how and when he uses them.
How and when to use flash and projected flash both as main light and as
fill.
How the quality and the direction of natural light affects your images.
How to come up with the pure, clean, out-of-focus backgrounds that are the
hallmark of Artie's style.
How to use your camera’s multi-segmented meter to consistently come up with
good exposures and why Artie is one of the few pros who rarely spot meters
anything.
The cost of the Seminar is $65.00 with advance registration (recommended), or
$75.00 at the door) To sign up, fill out the registration form below and send it
